Our comprehensive program

Youth Mentoring & Fitness Program

The full youth-development program, available in an extended after-school format of approximately three hours per program day when appropriate. Shorter formats can be arranged with partner organizations.

Program goals

  • Increase participation in safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate physical activity.
  • Strengthen confidence, self-esteem, perseverance, communication and positive decision-making.
  • Support SEL skills including self-regulation, cooperation, resilience, respect and responsible choices.
  • Provide positive adult mentoring and structured peer interaction.

Safety & Program Standards

  • Age-appropriate activities planned for each developmental level
  • Structured supervision throughout every program day
  • Participant-to-staff planning appropriate to the group and activity
  • Equipment checks before use, with damaged equipment removed from rotation
  • Proper Kangoo Jumps fitting and step-by-step instruction whenever equipment is used
  • Participant orientation covering expectations, boundaries and safe movement
  • Emergency contact information collected and kept on hand at every session
  • Ongoing family communication about schedules, changes and participation
  • Clear conduct expectations for participants and staff
  • Inclusive, respectful programming that welcomes all participants
  • Activities modified when a participant needs a different level of challenge or support
